This site is our third go at project management tools. It's based in a Drupal clone of Basecamp, a web-based project management tool.
We have tried different solutions such as phpProjekt, dotProject, Daylite and Basecamp. Then we found this online as a tutorial and demonstration of the possibilities of Drupal and we embraced it.
